Shuri Castle is a world heritage site that shows the splendor of the Ryukyu Kingdom
The largest castle in the prefecture, this majestic site was the center of politics, diplomacy, and culture in the Ryukyu Kingdom. Its unique construction methods and stone arranging techniques are considered to be of high cultural and historic value, and in December 2000 the ruins of Shuri Castle were designated a World Heritage Site.
